About Bettina

After completing her foundational arts education, she studied dance at the Pécs Secondary School of the Arts and earned her degree from the Hungarian Dance University. Already at the beginning of her career, she received outstanding professional recognition: the Hungarian Dance Artists’ Association awarded her “Best Graduating Student of the Season” followed by “Best Emerging Dance Artist of the Season”.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with several leading Hungarian companies, including the Frenák Company, Budapest Dance Theatre, Pécs Ballet, Kecskemét City Ballet, Feledi Project, Badora Company, and Duda Éva Company.

In 2021, she joined Ivgi&Greben in the Netherlands, and a year later became a member of the GöteborgsOperans Danskomapni, where she worked with internationally acclaimed choreographers such as Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Emma Portner and Tom Weinberger.

During her years in Gothenburg, she also played a role in establishing an internal choreographic platform, supporting the development of creative initiatives within the company.

Since the autumn of 2024, she has been working as a freelance artist, performing, creating, choreographing, and teaching in both national and international projects. She has collaborated with, among others, Scapino Ballet in the Netherlands and JC Movement Production in Luxembourg, choreographed for Swedish singer Sarah Klang, and performed alongside RY X across Europe.
She is currently working on her own projects while continuing to perform in productions of the Frenák Company.

Her artistic language is shaped by emotional depth, storytelling through the body, and a belief in the transformative power of movement—both on stage and within internal bodily processes. Her work is characterized by finely articulated, detailed movement and a strong stage presence, while she approaches the body as a poetic medium—imbued with uniqueness, softness, and sensuality.

Her choreographic career has been steadily evolving since 2018. Her first significant work was Analog, followed by creations during her years with Kecskemét City Ballet. In 2019, she co-created SoulBird, and in the same year choreographed for the Kecskemét National Theatre’s production of Aladdin. In 2021, inspired by Márton Simon’s poetry collection Polaroids, she created the dance theatre piece I’m Not Available, I’m Breathing.

In 2025, she premiered her first solo evening, Crack Your Heart Open, in which she is both performer and choreographer.

Her creative work also extends into film: she participated as a choreographer’s assistant and dancer in The Testament of Ann Lee (directed by Mona Fastvold, choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall, starring Amanda Seyfried). Her short film Inhale Calm, Exhale Chaos (directed by András Ladocsi) premiered on NOWNESS, while her latest work Periphery (directed by Péter Becz) has been nominated for Best Performance at several international festivals (London, Berlin).

In addition to her performing career, Bettina is a certified movement coach and Sattva yoga teacher, specializing in kriya practices, breathwork, and meditation. She has been teaching actively since 2020, primarily working with non-dancers. She is currently deepening her studies as a trauma-informed somatic educatior for women, guiding individuals in reconnecting with their body’s inner intelligence, perception, and self-healing capacity.
